FAQs

Funds raised through FMP World’s website package are used to cover the costs associated with the site including of our developer, server, and other tech-related costs. The remaining is used to scale the work of Find My Parent – FMP World’s non-profit entity which empowers children to reunite with their parent. This includes our mobile app, podcast, knowledge hub and advocacy and awareness raising initiatives.

FMP World team can advise parents on how to purchase a domain, however the cost of the domain is not included in the package as this is a third-party cost. Parents can purchase as many domains (i.e. www.childone.com and www.childtwo.com) as they would like and link them to the site.

You can definitely use the blog posts, videos and photos on your current site on the parent site but the design does need to follow that of the parent site. The site will also be hosted on the FMP server so we can ensure high-standard security features and daily backups.

After year one, you can renew your website package at a 40% discount rate for the advanced and personalized packages. This way you will still be able to add, edit and remove photos, videos and blogposts. You will not be able to make any major changes to the site as you did when signing up for the first year. However, your site will continue to be maintained with back-ups and advanced security measures.
FMP World uses basis SEO best practices to help your site show up on Google search results when people search for a specific term, i.e. your children’s name. Additional SEO services can be purchases to help ensure the site shows up on page one of Google search results.
Yes, you can choose the color and font for the site as well as customize the menu items. For example, if your case has a lot of media attention, you can have a menu item for media and a link to these articles. If not, you could use that section to share poems, stories, or letters with your children. The premium package allows you to customize two pages on the site and includes one-on-one sessions with our development team to do so.
Once FMP World has begun building your site, the annual fee is non-refundable (if not yet performed, you are eligible for a refund within 30 days of the date of the transaction). Add on services are non-refundable. You can cancel or downgrade your plan at any time and that change will become effective once the annual package is up for renewal (365 days after your original purchase). Plans upgraded in the middle of a billing cycle will be pro-rated.
